Fencing is one of the five sports which has been present at every single Modern Olympic Games. The others are Athletics, Cycling, Gymnastics and Swimming.

It is a game of mental agility, physical prowess and technical skill. There are three different fencing weapons: foil, épée and sabre. The rules and target area vary between the weapons but the basic premise of taking the initiative and hitting the opponent in order to score holds true across all three weapons.

Fencing is an incredibly safe sport due to the protective equipment used.

Fencing is great exercise for both mind and body for all ages.
