This event is brought to you by ‘JOY Trail’ an educational project that promotes Black Joy in local schools in conjunction with community partners Come The Revolution, Eastside Community Trust, DET Entertainment and Creative Connex CIC.

JOY Trail is an innovative, educational project created by two local mothers and teachers of primary and secondary-aged students, who offer a fresh perspective on cultural heritage through the lens of joy.

  • 7.30pm Screening of Rye Lane, as romance blossoms between a pair navigating life, love, and laughter in London
  • 9pm Panel discussion featuring local Black creatives, educators, and community leaders. Dig deep into the film’s themes, explore the importance of Black joy, and discuss how we can cultivate it in our communities. There will be a special poetry reading.
