Once a month (Mondays)
21 March – 25 April – 23 May
What is History Over the Phone?
This is an exciting new way of talking and sharing our life stories with others in our local community.
Who will run the group?
The project will be led by local historian Garry Atterton in coordination with the Eastside Community Trust. Garry cares greatly about telling and sharing the life stories of the people and communities of East Bristol.
How does it work?
Using your phone dial the number given when you sign up. An automated message will introduce you to Free Conference Calls.com and ask you to enter your access code followed by the # (hash) key. When the host (Garry) joins, you will be asked to state you name. You are now on the call.
What are the aims of the group?
1. To talk, share and discuss our family and local histories.
2. To create a greater sense of belonging and worth.
3. To appreciate that the knowledge and understanding of our histories helps build a better future for our local communities.
How do take part?
Contact Garry Atterton via email firstname.lastname@example.org or Tracy Edwards-Brown the Engagement Coordinator at the Eastside Community Trust, email email@example.com or call 07947 830973
Eastside Connect is a peer-to-peer group for people over 55 living in Easton and Lawrence HIll. Members share their wealth of experience, knowledge, lived experience and skills, with others. This project hopes to build a diverse group that can learn from and support each other and it’s these differences that mean the group will hopefully appeal to a wide range of people in our community.
