REFRAME – Diverse Images for Healthcare
Tuesday 5 March, 9.30am to 3.30pm
Easton Community Centre
Medical conditions can look different depending on a person’s skin tone. In many healthcare resources there are very few pictures of people with different skin tones. This means people with darker skin experience greater chance of misdiagnosis than people with lighter skin. To help, we want to take pictures of medical conditions on people a range of skin tones and create a digital collection of photographs. These pictures will be helpful for teaching and identifying conditions in all skin tones, leading to faster diagnosis, and better experiences of healthcare. We are seeking people with health conditions from Black, Asian and other global majority communities to be photographed for an inclusivity project. Participants will receive a £10 voucher for their first contribution.
