We were really pleased to have been awarded a £30,000 grant from Enovert to make improvements to Easton Community Centre.

The funding has been raised to make important upgrades to the building to improve accessibility.

The community told us that accessibility into and within the building is of importance to them and needs improvement. In response to that, we invited WECIL (West of England Centre for Inclusive Living) to conduct an audit of our building. On the basis of recommendations from their report, we will be improving access to the building, toilet facilities, lighting, signage and technology across the building.

We will also be making improvements to the exterior of the building; installing better lighting, repainting and creating an outside gallery. We have also begun work to building a secure bike store and bin store outside, to encourage cycling and tackle fly-tipping.

We will be making a start on improvements in 2021.

It’s great to be able to make these changes to the building so we are ready to welcome the community back in style.
