Somali Kitchen food parcels

12 Sep, 2020
Somali Kitchen have been coodinatoring and diseminating food parcels from Easton Community Centre for isolated and vulnerable people.

Suad and Sahra from Somali Kitchen have been coordinating a group of dedicated volunteers to send out food parcels to 30 families, and up to 20 elders across the city every week. The group have been using the main hall at Easton Community Centre for free and have contributed a huge amount to the support the centre has been able to give.

Sahra says:

“We are tired but it is worth it, every week we think this is our last but then we deliver the food parcels and see what a lifeline it is for people and how without it they would really struggle, so we keep going”.
