We are sad to say that following the Government’s announcement at the weekend, we will be closing Easton Community Centre and Felix Road Adventure Playground until further notice.
We will close to the public as of 6pm on Wednesday 4 November.
Felix Road Adventure Playground
Our team will continue to work hard behind the scenes to make sure the playground is the best possible position to reopen as soon as we are allowed to welcome you back.
We have a lot of work to do getting the kitchen at Felix Road and the playground ready for the winter and beyond. Raised in Felix Road nursery has now moved to the new building and will be opening there on 11 November.
This means we can focus on ensuring our indoor space can be safely used for play as soon as we are able to reopen. We also have an exciting tender out at the moment to reshape the outside space, creating new structures and green spaces. The closure means we can concentrate on getting this in motion and creating the best quality play space for local children that we can.
Easton Community Centre
We have already made a lot of improvements to the building since the first lockdown and it was exciting to welcome back bookings. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel any bookings in November. As we are not sure how long this second lockdown will last, any bookings for later than November will be provisional until we are clearer about what we can and can’t do. We will focus on upgrading our main hall with our grant from Enovert so that we have a high-quality space to welcome back the community.
Community support
We will continue our communications activity with a new magazine due out in December and we’ll keep everyone updated about our plans and local activity on our website, fortnightly ebulletin, and social media channels (Twitter and Facebook).
We are exploring ways we can keep in touch with children and families during this month and how we respond to support our local community while ensuring the safety of our staff and security of our sites.
Thank you
Thank you for all your love and support during this time we are eternally grateful for the kindness of our community and supporters.
We can’t say for certain when we will re-open again, but until then we are thinking of you all. Stay safe, stay in touch, and look after each other.
