Community Organising Training

About this event

Empowering individuals with skills and confidence to lead community action for nature.

Community-led change happens when local people have the confidence, skills and relationships to turn ideas into action. This practical training is for anyone who wants to help make Easton and Lawrence Hill greener, healthier and more connected.
Whether you’re already leading a project, volunteering with a local group or simply have an idea you’d like to bring to life, this session will introduce practical community organising tools that can help you engage others and build collective action. Together we’ll explore:

  • What community organising is (and isn’t).
  • How change happens through relationships.
  • Listening as the foundation of organising.
  • Identifying shared interests and building collective action.
  • Understanding power and working collaboratively.
  • Supporting people to take their next step in Community Organising
  • Create engagement strategies to use these skills to help shape the Community-Led Nature Plan.

No previous experience is needed, just an interest in making a difference in your neighbourhood.

We hope that some of you might want to volunteer helping the engagement process (with friends, neighbours and family) towards the creation of our Community Led Nature Plan for Easton and Lawrence Hill (commiting as little or as much as you can over the following moth). However you are welcome to join the training anyway even if you are unable to commit time engaging towards the Nature Plan.
