Eastside Community Trust Seeks New Trustees

Eastside Community Trust is looking for local people to join its Board of Trustees and help shape the future of community services in Easton and Lawrence Hill.

The Trust stewards a range of valuable local assets, including an adventure playground, community centre, four retail shops, and Up Our Street magazine, which is delivered to 14,000 homes. Trustees play a vital role in providing strategic leadership, ensuring good governance, and helping the organisation achieve its charitable aims.

The Board is particularly keen to hear from people who:

  • Have HR or people management experience
  • Are from the Somali community
  • Are from LGBTQ+ communities
  • Are aged 18-25

Trustees should be committed to supporting local people and helping the Trust make sound decisions for the benefit of the community. Previous trustee experience is not essential, as support and training are provided.

The role involves attending:

  • One in-person evening board meeting every quarter
  • One online sub-committee meeting every quarter
  • Occasional training sessions, away days, and additional meetings

The Trust welcomes applications from people who live or work in Easton or Lawrence Hill and who are keen to contribute their skills, experience, and local knowledge.

Travel and childcare expenses are available.
