Standing Together Against Hate

This past weekend, London witnessed deeply troubling scenes of violence and hate-fuelled protest. Such events can ripple far beyond the capital, creating fear and anxiety in communities everywhere.

In East Bristol at Eastside Community Trust, we want to acknowledge this moment and reaffirm our role: to stand for inclusion, to protect spaces of welcome, and to help our communities heal and thrive.

Our recently published Strategy 2025 – Executive Summary sets out a clear vision: to build strong, inclusive, and resilient communities in East Bristol. We are committed to:

  • Creating welcoming, safe spaces where everyone feels they belong.
  • Championing equality and inclusion, ensuring that no one is left out or left behind.
  • Fostering active citizenship, supporting people to take part in shaping their neighbourhoods.
  • Encouraging health and wellbeing, recognising that resilience depends on both physical and mental health.
  • Strengthening partnerships with local organisations, schools, and services to deliver lasting impact.

These principles are not just words. They guide our daily work, from running family activities, youth projects and community events, to leading on environmental initiatives and supporting residents’ voices to be heard in local decision-making.

If You Need Help

If you have been affected by hate crime, or if you witness incidents of racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, or any other form of discrimination, you do not have to face it alone.

Your voice matters, and reporting helps protect others too.
