Eastside Community Trust has been awarded £100,000 over two years as part of Bristol City Council’s Nature and Cities programme.

Here’s how we plan to deliver the key initiatives:
- Develop a local plan for nature that links existing green spaces and pockets of nature between Felix Road Adventure Playground, Easton Community Centre and the Bristol and Bath Railway Path. This will include a nature audit with residents engaged in the co-design of the plan.
- Support community-led ‘patch projects’ on bits of unloved space with residents turning these into nature havens. We aim to inspire others and create ‘how to’ kits to help residents get started on other bits of unloved space.
- Work with existing parks groups to share learning and skills. We will bring local parks groups together and provide links with resources locally and citywide. Nature projects and events at Easton Community Centre and Felix Road Adventure Playground that support residents to use our venues to model best practice and develop local skills.
- Acting in an advisory role to Bristol City Council during the life of the project as a critical friend on the development of their One Front Door and Green Permit Scheme. Partnership working with grassroots groups and activists to make sure the project is inclusive and equitable and building on existing strengths and knowledge.
