This innovative Charter reflects the voices of Bristol’s children and young people, highlighting their perspectives on food education, issues they care about, and preferred learning methods. The project involved extensive engagement across various settings in the city, where hundreds of young participants shared their views on food and learning about food through discussions, writings, drawings, and recordings.
What to Expect:
- Presentation of the Bristol Food Education Charter research findings, including the ‘Freedom Kids Podcast’ episodes focused on food education.
- Celebration of the ‘Food is the Fuel for Play’ research conducted by Felix Road Adventure Playground.
- Interactive, hands-on food activities designed for all ages.
- Refreshments and opportunities for networking and discussion.
Participation and Activities
Children are welcome to come and join in with the food workshop and play, but must be accompanied by an adult if under eight years old. The event aims to foster collaboration among schools, community groups, and youth organisations to enhance food education and promote communal eating experiences.
